SPECTRUM-conference in Helsinki

Standards and joint procedures are key elements towards more interoperable, sustainable and customer friendly collection management. In recent years standards have gained a bigger role within museums collection management and cataloguing.

SPECTRUM-standard is used in thousands museums around world for quality collection management. The standard has become an important tool also for Nordic museums. The whole standard or parts of it has been localized for Finnish, Swedish and Norwegian museums during years 2014-2016. The SPECTRUM-conference concentrates on the standard and it’s use in Finland, Sweden, Norway and United Kingdom.

During the conference the participants will get to know SPECTRUM, the localizations of it and learn how to use it in their museums everyday work. The presentations enlighten the different approaches to the standard and the practical benefits it provides to the museums. The workshops enables the participants to regard the collection management procedures and cataloguing information in practice.

The conference is an unique opportunity to learn and change experience about museums collection management. The conference is suitable for everyone who work with museums, collection management procedures like cataloguing, loans, conservation, acquisitions, deaccessions and for example transportation. The conference is targeted for curators, museum assistants, conservators, intendants, registrators, digitizers, cataloguers and everyone who is working in collection management.

The conference is organized by Finnish Museums Association in co-operation with Swedish National Heritage Board and Arts Council Norway.

Early bird for members of Finnish Museums Association until 18.4.2017 150 € (+ 24 % VAT)
Standard fee for members of Finnish Museums Association until 22.5.2017 175 € (+ 24 % VAT)
Early bird for non-members until 18.4.2017 175 € (+ 24 % VAT)
Standard fee for non-members until 22.5.2017 200 € (+ 24 % VAT)
Fee includes program, conference materials and morning and afternoon caitering mentioned in the program. Lunches are not included in the conference fee. Conference fee will be charged by invoice.
