The 2025 theme, “Museums and Hope”, positions museums as places of human connection, imagination, healing and resilience. As global societies face increasing polarization, technological acceleration, and cultural fragmentation, we ask: What does it mean to be human—and hopeful—today? And if museums are both stewards of the past and curators of our shared future, how can they foster a more compassionate and expansive understanding of what it means to be human?
CoMuseum 2025 will examine the evolving role of museums in shaping a more inclusive, democratic, and empathetic society. Through a dual lens—retrospective and forward-looking—we will imagine alternative futures, and explore tools, ideas, and leadership models that empower museums to bridge divides and act as catalysts for resilience and collective imagination.
